History

Our most reliable info is that Troop 14 was founded about 1928, but
may have been started as early as 1920 and there are no records
showing to support. As far as we know, Troop 14 is the second oldest
troop in the Long Beach Area Council. The Troop originally met at
Fremont Elementary School. After the 1933 earthquake destroyed
Fremont , the troop moved to the Belmont Heights Methodist Church
where we currently meet.

Organization

In the troop the scouts are organized into patrols or groups. Each new
Scout will be assigned to a patrol upon joining. The
Boy Scout
Handbook
provides a complete description of troop organization and
advancements. It is recommended that the scout and his parent review
the handbook after joining. The adult support of the troop consists of a
Scoutmaster, ASM's and the Troop Committee. the Troop Committee
is composed of primarily of parents and interested adults. Every parent
is encouraged to become a part of the T.C..
